The Palma Congress Center hosted the COVID-19 Invisibles Gala in January, organized by the Department of Health and Consumption of the Balearic Islands in order to recognize the work of 52 professional groups, associations, entities and institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic that began in March 2020. The event was attended by 1,500 people, including the Spanish Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, and the Balearic Minister of Health and Consumption, Patricia Gómez.
Among the participants, there have been numerous authorities from the Balearic Islands such as Vicenç Thomàs, President of Parliament; Mercedes Garrido, Minister of the Presidency, Public Function and Equality; Rosario Sánchez, Minister of Finance and Foreign Relations, and Fina Santiago, Minister of Social Affairs and Sports.
The event served to thank the efforts of hundreds of professionals from the Balearic Islands after provinding an effective response to the pandemic.
