At the core of this commitment is the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and resource management strategies, allowing the Palma Congress Center to consistently enhance its environmental performance year after year. In fact, in 2022, the congress center managed to reduce its environmental footprint per client by more than 45% compared to the previous year.
Through the Melia’s environmental program SAVE, the center is taking a comprehensive approach to eco-efficiency across four key areas:
1. Contracting of Renewable Energy: The Palma Congress Center is procuring all of its electrical energy from renewable sources, reducing its scope 2 carbon emissions to zero.
2. Management and Monitoring of Energy Demand: Employing advanced energy monitoring systems, the center is able to optimize its energy consumption patterns in real-time.
3. Standardization of Efficient Products: The Palma Congress Center is selecting and promoting energy-efficient products and materials. This commitment to using environmentally conscious resources further solidifies the center's role as a frontrunner in eco-friendly event hosting.
