Palma recently hosted the 17th Congress of the National Association of Nursing Coordinators in Material Resources (ANECORM) from October 2nd to 4th. The event brought together more than 500 nursing professionals and over 100 exhibitors to discuss efficient and sustainable management within the healthcare sector.
The congress was chaired by Mónica Planas García, Supervisor of Material Resources at the General Hospital Mateu Orfila in Mahón. Key topics included resource optimization and sustainability in the procurement of medical products. The strategic role of nurse managers in Material Resources was also highlighted.
A significant focus was on the impact of artificial intelligence, simulation, and technological innovation on healthcare organizations. Experts debated how these technologies are transforming decision-making processes and enhancing patient care efficiency, alongside their economic and organizational implications.
The congress also examined new legal horizons and diverse contracting methods in public procurement, evaluating models that ensure efficient, transparent, and flexible healthcare management. Continuous professional development and training were emphasized as critical drivers for nurse managers to lead the evolution towards a more efficient and higher quality healthcare system.

Additionally, the congress discussed the transversal nature of the nurse managers' competencies and their impact on sustainability and environmental respect within healthcare.
