The Convention Centre has been created to assist in the transformation of the city into a business destination that is competitive on an international level. Palma City Council and the Balearic Islands Government begin working on Palma Convention Centre in 2005.
At the end of 2016, Meliá Hotels International was proud to be selected as the company to manage the facilities for the following 15 years.
The Convention Centre finally opened its doors in May 2017, celebrating its first event with a gala dinner for 800 people in the EXPO Zone.
