The Palma Congress Center hosted a vibrant Christmas afterwork, uniting members from the scientific, medical, and academic circles of the Balearic Islands to acknowledge their pivotal role as ambassadors for the destination. This gathering aimed to bolster connections with these professionals and foster collaboration, amplifying their ambassadorial efforts to draw conferences to Mallorca.

The Christmas afterwork saw the presence of esteemed figures, including Javier Ureña, the General Director of the Balearic Islands' Health Service; Dr. Anna Traveset, CSIC delegate in the Balearic Islands; and Zara Pons, Manager of the Biotechnology and Biomedical cluster of the Balearic Islands (BIOIB).

Natalia Seoane, the general director of the congress venue, emphasized, "Our goal is to spotlight the impactful contributions of these professionals in attracting significant conferences and events, fortifying Mallorca's position as a MICE destination. By forging collaborative efforts, we aim to solidify Palma's status as an internationally acclaimed conference hub."

In 2023, the Palau de Congressos de Palma successfully hosted 11 conferences, welcoming over 10,500 participants from 80+ countries. Building on this success, 2024 will see another 11 conferences, notably the European Conference on Interventional Oncology (ECIO 2024), the first international medical congress in the island, expecting over 1,200 healthcare professionals.

The Palma Congress Center remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, attracting globally relevant events, further elevating Mallorca's stature as a premier destination for conferences and events.
