VIII El Económico Forum: Analysis of the Geopolitical Challenges Facing the Balearic Islands
The Palma Congress Center served as the venue for the VIII El Económico Forum, an event dedicated to examining the geopolitical challenges confronting the Balearic Islands in the global landscape.
During the forum, experts in economics and geopolitics shared their insights on navigating this constantly evolving environment. Among the notable participants were Mónica Calzetta, world chess champion; Maria Cruz Rivera, regional director of CaixaBank in the Balearic Islands; Antoni Riera, professor at UIB and director of the Fundació Impulsa; Jorge Dezcallar, diplomat and writer; Marcos Urarte, president of Grupo Pharos and business advisor; and Julia Simpson, president of the World Travel & Tourism Council. The event was moderated by Paula Serra and provided valuable perspectives on critical issues such as wars, pandemics, climate change, and artificial intelligence.
Carmen Serra, president of Grup Serra, addressed the attendees, while Margalida Prohens, president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, concluded the forum, emphasizing the importance of addressing these challenges with a shared vision.
