A Magical Night to Welcome 2025
The Palma Congress Center hosted a magical evening to ring in the new year with a spectacular concert by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Joji Hattori. The event featured a special performance by soprano Lauren Urquhart, captivating the audience with her stunning talent.
The concert hall was filled to capacity as attendees enjoyed a meticulously curated selection of classical pieces from celebrated composers such as Johann and Josef Strauss, Franz Lehár, Harold Arlen, Leroy Anderson, Leonard Bernstein, and Jeanine Tesori. The program also included contemporary works from film and theater, including Harold Arlen's "The Wizard of Oz" and Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story," creating an enchanting musical experience.
Lauren Urquhart, a 27-year-old American soprano currently based in Vienna, Austria, was one of the evening's highlights, impressing the audience with her remarkable voice and charismatic stage presence.
The President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, attended the concert, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, and the Regional Secretary of Culture and Sports, Pedro Vidal.
